Super Sunday!

So why is it super Sunday...a little cheesy I know...well bc that means that my work weekend is over and I am off for several days. To make that even better Scott is home with us tomorrow!!!
BUT.....
the 2 big reasons that today is super Sunday is bc SS turned 22 months old today and Hamp has his first tooth!!!

SS is a little lady now...all the baby is gone. She is a women on a mission and a little attitude to go with that! She knows what she wants and wants to get it! She will not think twice about throwing herself on the floor and screaming or looking at you with a death look as she puts her head between her crossed arms on her chest. Its pretty funny but I don't think I am allowed to laugh I am the parent and I believe I should be punishing her for these actions. SHE IS TOO CUTE THOUGH!! I love this little girl so much.

And my big boy Hampton now has his first tooth. Several days ago I looked at his gums on the bottom and noticed they were really red and swollen. Friday I could see a little bit of white on one of the bottom teeth. Saturday a little came through but this morning...BAM...the tooth came through the skin. The other one is working its way up and should make its debut in the next several days. This just really makes me feel like my little boy is getting big. I tried to get a pic of the tooth...you can see some of it:)

All smiles...he is proud of that tooth too

A day of first

So as parents you know we always love to record "the first" of everything that happens. So this week we let the kids have their first bath together and then SS had her first "real" haircut. Lets start with the bath.
We had a wonderful weekend together just the 4 of us. Scott and I were able to get some alone time for about 6 hours Sat..he took me shopping and we had a nice lunch. It was so nice to spend time with him and just be us..thanks to BeBe and Grandad!! Sunday after church we hung out at the house and then had Mexican for dinner...we went to eat a little late so I was ready to get the kids in bed when we got home. Normally we bath the kids in rounds but Sunday night we thought we would just knock em out all at once. Scott could bath SS and I would bath Hamp...all at the same time!! Hamp had a look of terror on his face most of the time..SS loves bath time and gets a little excited and that freaked him out just a little!!

Tuesday SS had a hair appt...that sounds weird!! I have cut on her hair some since she was a baby but she was in desperate need of some professional fixin!! Her bangs were so long she would hold her head up so that she could see. Scott had to work so I invited BeBe along for the ride and I am SO glad that she came bc Hamp was not a happy camper and then SS was not in the mood for a haircut. She did pretty good for about 1 min and then was not having it. Kristin was able to cut a pretty good amount off the back and it looks so much better. She looks like a big girl now.
The pic below we had just put her in the chair..thinking what is happening to me

I don't have a after pic that you can actually see the back of her hair...the front still looks the same! She survived and we got a little sample of her hair to put in the baby book!!

Sand between her toes

...not at the beach but in her new sandbox. She calls it "cooking"....she associates the bucket and the shovel with things that she pretends to cook with.

"Lets go cook" SS will say and off to the sandbox we go. So you ask how we ended up with a sandbox, well SS has this dad that really should win the dad of the year contest. As you know he watches the kids when I work weekends. Last weekend I had to work all day Sat and Sun so Scott had Hamp and SS all day. I have the kids all day alot and there are some things that I just cant accomplish with 2 little ones....Scott can!! Sat AM he gets up and feeds both kids, packs them up and heads to Walmart where he purchases SS a basketball goal and then he heads to Lowe's to get a sandbox. How he managed to push 2 kids in a cart with a sandbox and 100+lbs of sand to go in it is beyond me. I need to get him a shirt that says superdad! I get home Sat night to a basketball goal in my den and a new sandbox..aka "cooking" in the backyard! SS loves it. Scott said that at first she would get sand on her and say "dirty" but she soon got over that.
Hamp does not get to enjoy in the fun yet but he looks cute as always on the sidelines!

She has enjoyed her 2 new toys and Scott is trying to teach her how to play basketball. Right now she has fun with us picking her up so she can dunk the ball!
This week has been a great week I only worked Tues and Wed so have been able to be home with the kids most of the week. We had Scott home with us today and started our morning off at Sunrise Grill where I enjoyed wonderful blueberry pancakes...Mmmm. Tonight we had dinner with Christin, Matt and Mary Hil and then went to Scott's parents neighborhood where they were having live music. The girls loved it and danced the night away. Now that we are home the kids are off to bed. I am looking forward to the rest of the weekend with the family...I love family time!
I leave you with some pics of the kids from the week.

In the words of SS

Sarah Scott is getting so big and talking more and more everyday. Her words are becoming so clear to understand and she is saying phrases all the time. The things that she comes up with are just so dang cute!! She has several new things. First is I am now mom not mommy!! Sunday we were headed in to church and I asked her to carry her bag for mommy. Her response was "sure mom."
She is very good at her manners and says "pease" "tant too" and "welkum." She likes to put them together and just get all her manners in one sentence..hehe! Today we are sitting at the table with Aunt Christin and she asked for some water. I handed her the water bottle and she replied "tant too welkum mom."

I think that I take way to many pictures of her and Hamp bc lately she will sit on the floor and point to her lap saying " baby lap peeture." That leads to me placing Hamp in her lap, however within 3 seconds she has had enough and body slams him back on the floor but that is after she has given him the choke hold!

She is growing so fast right before our eyes. The "terrible two's" as they call it seems to be visiting a little early..we are starting to throw ourselves on the floor for a tantrum and cross our arms with our head down and a TERRIBLY mean look on the face. Some friends of mine got a taste of this at Chick fil A recently when she decided that she did not want to leave the playground!!
BUT she is still the cutest girl in the world!!

Mother's Day

I love being a mommy!!

Mothers Day 2010

A wife...a mother

Proverbs 31:10-12 and 25-31

A wife of noble character who can find? She is worth far more than rubies.

Her husband has full confidence in her and lacks nothing of value.

She brings him good, not harm all the days of her life.

She is clothed with strength and dignity; she can laugh at the days to come.

She speaks with wisdom, and faithful instruction is on her tongue.

She watches over the affairs of her household and does not eat the bread of idleness.

Her children arise and call her blessed;her husband also, and he praises her: “Many women do noble things, but you surpass them all.”

Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the LORD is to be praised.

Give her the reward she has earned, and let her works bring her praise at the city gate.

I read this verse thinking of my own mother. She is described so perfectly here. I have been so blessed to be raised by the type of mother I have. One who puts everything before herself...one that gives of herself daily without asking for anything in return...loves the Lord with all that she has...prays without ceasing for her family...and shines the light of Christ. Yes, I do stand and call her blessed and yes, many women do noble things but to me YES she surpasses them all.

This is what I want...I want to be the women described in this verse...I want to be the mom and wife that my mother has been. I am so thankful today to be a mom. So thankful for the 2 beautiful children the Lord has given me the privilege to raise. I love to say that I am a mommy and to hear Sarah Scott say "mommy." It is the sweetest sound. Who could ask for more....being a mom...the greatest gift of all.

Happy Mothers Day!

Hampton is 5 Months old

Happy 5 months little man!!
Well not so little..Hamp is a little chunk. Oh I just cant tell you how much I love this little boy. He really has my heart and I love to see that precious smile on his face. Time is really going by fast. To hear that sweet little laugh kiss those cheeks just makes my heart smile.

Hampton you are growing like a weed. The last time you went to the MD (1 mth ago) you were 17 lbs..big boy!!! Let mommy tell you what you are up to these days:
* Size 3 diaper...size 4 overnight
* 9 month clothes...some 12 months but shorts and pants some 6 months...those legs are a little short!!
* Eating 4 7 oz bottles a day and rice cereal in the AM and for dinner.
*Refuse to stay on your back when we put you on the floor...you immediately roll to your tummy
* still napping around 10 or 1030 in the AM and then again at 2 or 2:30. Some days each of those naps are around 2 hours but some days you choose to not nap well in the AM. Daddy gets you to take a short 30 to 45 min nap in the evening around 5:30 but I am not that lucky!! * you are so ticklish on your sides and under your chin.
*Mommy put you in the highchair for the first time 4/20 and you did great. I got you a toy that attaches to the tray and you loved it.

* On 4/26 we tried you in the ultra saucer for the first time. You like it but not for long..we will keep trying!

Hamp man we love you so much. Mommy wants to stop this growing up thing and keep you little so you will always want to snuggle with me! You are my precious little boy and I love you!
