Jason Aldean/Luke Bryan

That's the concert that Scott and I went to over the weekend. Scott really likes JAldean and we have been talking about this concert since before Hamp was born. We had decided back in Nov that this could be our first date night out but we were unable to get tickets. We have been looking on ebay since the concert sold out but lost out on a few bids and others just did not like the seats for the price.
I am not much of a concert person so I was not too disappointed but I knew that Scott wanted to go and it would be fun for the 2 of us to have some alone time. The concert was Sat night and we made plans to have a sitter knowing that if we did not go to the concert we would just have a night out to dinner. All day Sat Scott was watching ebay and Craig's list..lost out on a few tickets to other higher bids and again just not willing to put a lot of money into the tickets. The concert started at 8 and around 530 a guy called offering us a great deal on tickets that we had turned down (due to price) several hours before. The tickets were pit tickets and we made the decision to go. I quickly shaved my legs put on a dress and some boots and we dropped the kids off at my parents. Hit up the Mexican rest for some grub and headed to the concert. We were right up against the stage. I have never been so close to anyone at a concert. It was the best time and totally worth our efforts in trying to get tickets.
I recently have been talking to Scott about us spending time together...taking a vacation just the 2 of us etc.... A dear friend of mine is struggling in her marriage right now and told me that Scott and I need to do more on our own and really "Invest in our marriage." I think that is so true for anyone who has children...its so easy to get caught up in everyday living and forget about spending quality time with your spouse.
So all that to say we laugh that the money spent on tickets was well worth it and an investment in our marriage!!!

Day at Grammies!

So today SS, Hamp and I went over to my moms house..aka Grammie! She was keeping my niece Addi and SS is completely obsessed with her so I thought they could spend sometime together. I seriously mean obsessed...every child that she sees on TV or in pics is "Adeeeee." Whenever SS sees her she runs and tackles her to the ground with BIG hugs. I cant explain how much SS loves her and it is so sweet...I hope that they grow up very close cousins and great friends. I always enjoy a day with my mom so it was nice to spend time chatting with her while the kids played.
Mom has recently pulled out an old table and chairs of mine when I was a child. We are going to have it painted for the kids at some point for now it is at her house and Addi and SS love to sit at it and color.

After coloring mom fixed the girls some lunch. Mac and cheese, lima beans and hotdogs....Mmmmm..thats about the extent of SS diet!
SS has started saying " I na wan it" and "I done" so I caught a pic of her as she was telling me that she was done and she na wan it!!

After lunch the girls played more, running up and down the hallway chasing each other and rocking together in the rocking chair. Neither one of them like getting pics taken and refuse to look at the camera so I was not able to get a pic of them together.

I love the pic below of Addi..she is such a cutie!

Hampton was being sweet as ever smiling and even a little cackle here and there!

Mom and I always try to get a pic of all three kids together and I have decided...It just aint happening!!! This is about the closest we are going to get!!

We had a great day today with you Grammie and Addi!

Hamptons Dedication, bday parties and everyday life!!

Catching up or I'm a slacker really should be the name of this blog. I have so much to catch you up on and starting to feel like pics I wanted to post were taken months ago. Our last several weekends have been somewhat busy...starting with a trip to Atl for Kellen's bday party and the next weekend Hampton's dedication and this weekend we stayed around the house but I had the touch of the stomach flu...NO FUN!

Lets start with the bday party. Kellen was turning one and we would not have missed it for the world. He is such a cutie and has the sweetest spirit. My wonderful angel Sarah Scott was so sweet to him. She ran up and hugged him..ok that's sweet...then hugged him so hard she tackled him to the ground, pushed him on the ground and even snatched a few toys...do you hear the sarcasm in my voice! We are working on her:) Stephanie put a lot of hard work in to the party and I was a little jealous of her talents. All the decorations SHE did and SHE made the precious cake! I just don't have that in me but she did a wonderful job..check out her blog to see all the pics...it was all amazing!
We were able to see the Cobb's and the Tucker's while in Atl and I got some sweet kisses from little Macy Brooks. Ashly has recently started taking pics with another photographer in Atl and seeing her camera and all the fancies on it has developed a new itch for me. I don't have a clue what I am doing when it comes to taking pics but I have a nice camera to get me started as well as Lightroom and CS4 photo programs to snazzy up pics. I told Scott I want a new lens and flash so hopefully that will be in my future!!
Scott has wonderful friends in Atl and I have been very blessed to develop relationships with their wives.

So the next weekend we had Hampton's dedication. I feel like that is such a special time as parents. A time when you bring your child before the church and most importantly before the Lord. You make a commitment to raise your child in the church, with Christian morals and most importantly to love the Lord and follow his Word. I feel that this is the most important gift that we as parents can give to SS and Hamp. The dedication was not done during our normal contemporary service that we attend so we had it during the traditional 11:00 service. Some of our extended family came for support and then we had lunch with family and friends after the service. It was a very special time and Scott and I are very thankful for those that shared in this time with us.
On a side note SS and Hamp looked so cute. They had matching outfits made by Scott's aunt.

As you can see SS was not thrilled to take a picture.

Hampton..we love you and promise to keep our commitment to the Lord to raise you according to Gods word.
Train up a child in the way he should go and when he is old he will not depart from it.
Proverbs 22:6

So last weekend was a relaxing weekend....which was nice and needed. Sarah Scott has been on an antibx for a sinus infection and Hamp was placed on an antibx on Monday for an ear infection. Both of them have been feeling pretty cruddy lately but we are up and going now.
Here are a few pics taken over the last several weeks of our sweet children. Enjoy and have a great week!

Thanks Honey!

I have an addiction to a show and some may think its a little cheesy but I really cant help it. I love the show 16 and pregnant. These girls make the mistake of having sex before marriage..like so many do...and they end up paying the consequences for it. It breaks my heart to see the struggles that they face especially the girls who lack family support. So...the other night I am watching the finale with Dr. Drew and have a few tears here and there when Scott proceeds to tell me who he thinks I look like. This particular girl comes up on TV and he says "there is Deborah Anne." I start busting out laughing and look for the nearest thing to throw at him...he is laughing...I am laughing and he said he thinks that if we added 70+lbs on me and him this would be us!!!!!!

So what do you think is this the future Whitfield's if we don't cut back on the brownies and ice cream...Oh minus the baby:)...LOL!!!!

2 months old..celebrated with shots!!

Today my sweet Hampton is 2 months old. Oh how time flies when you are having fun... changing diapers, feeding every 3 hours, being spit up on and having sleepless nights. All of those things that you just have to laugh at as a mother...but...that you love at the end of the day. I am glad to report that the sleepless nights are pretty much gone! Yipee!!!!
Hampton celebrated his 2 month bday with Dr. Gett's....and his gift was being stabbed in the leg with a very long needle 3 times! WOW!
Sarah Scott and Hampton had wellness checks today and I am not sure what I was thinking taking both kids to the MD office by myself when they both needed shots. Thank you Lord for Suzanne (friend that works in the office). She loved on one baby while I loved on the other one after shots.
We got home and I loaded both kids up on Tylenol and put them down for a long nap!!
At our pediatricians office the kids receive a letter from Dr. Gett's with each wellness check up. I love these letters because they are really intended for the parents with all the information that we will need but written to the child. Hampton's letter told him that he needs to start drinking 2-3 ounces of diluted juice several times a day. I cant believe this. Its amazing what all you forget because I don't remember SS having juice that early. I am glad though because maybe this will help him stretch his feedings to every 4 hours.
So Hampton this is what you are up to at 2 months:
*weigh 13lbs 3oz and 23 3/4inches long
*size 1 diapers still but pushing 2
*size 3 months clothing...some 3-6 months
*eating 4 ounces every 3 hours
*Go to sleep around 8 or 830...I wake you for a dream feed around 1030 or 11 and then you will sleep until 530 or 6.
*sleeping on your tummy and loving it
*You nap well during the day but I have not got you on a nap schedule yet...we are working on that
*started really smiling and cooing at about 7 weeks.
* You rolled over from tummy to back at 5 weeks but have not done this again
* Had your first out of town trip last weekend...to Atl for the day

Hamp man we love you to pieces. You make my heart melt with that smile. You are our "little man." Mommy and daddy love you more that you know. Sarah Scott loves being your mommy too and I can't wait for the day that the 2 of you can play together. We love you Hampton!

...Sarah Scott has been under the weather for the last 2 days. She woke up Monday with a green nose and it has not resolved yet. This morning she was pitiful. She knows that her mommy can't stand to see boogers in her nose and well right now she is full of them. I have been using saline spray in her nose since she was little and she does not mind me using it. Yesterday she was trying to use it herself and it was so cute.

After cleaning up her nose this AM I made her some breakfast and got her a spot on the floor with some Bar-eee!!! She was a happy camper.

Update: SS today at Dr. Gett's you weighed 22lbs 15oz and you were 31 1/4inches long.
Hope you feel better sweet angel girl!!
