Sarah Scott is 2!!

Happy Birthday to you Sarah Scott!!

2 years ago mommy and daddy got to love and squeeze you for the first time. You were so little and such a good baby!! I can't believe we have had the privelege of being your parents for 2 years. You are such a joy and keep us smiling and laughing each day. You have grown so much Sarah Scott and you are one beautiful little girl. Mommy and daddy love you more than you know. You are talking non stop now and surprise us each day with things that you say. I have been telling you all day that it is your birthday and you just look at me and smile. You have a Dora birthday party tomorrow and I know you will have such a great time. We love you sweet girl! It's your day today!!!

A little bit of this and that

Another Monday over...I feel like I was not very productive today. I don't have too much left to do for SS bday party this weekend. I did realize today that I had SS's tutu for the party but no shirt to go with it. I called Scott's aunt ASAP and got that taken care of. ..with a little battle in the fabric store with SS.
These days SS is sweet...BUT my lawd is she moody. I think this is why I feel like I cant get much done. She goes from smiling and being happy to throwing a toy, stomping her foot and marching off. It really is wearing me out at times and I feel like stomping my foot and walking off too!!! I have tried time out a few times with her but today when I would get on to her she would walk off a few feet, sit on the floor and then look at me and say "sit down." She knew that was getting ready to come out of my mouth. I just look at her and try my best not to laugh....she is too smart!
So last weekend Scott had the kids for a while and when I got home I see her baby on the table with a vaseline bottle beside it....

..Scott tells me that while he was changing Hampton SS put a diaper under her baby and then opened the vaseline container and put it on her baby!! What a sweet little momma!

Sat afternoon we had Addi's bday party. It was a blast and I think that kids had more fun than the adults. They had a huge water slide at the party and SS and Scott loved it.

SS started with Scott helping her from the side. Then Scott decided to join in on the fun. They started at the top...

and this was the end of the slide...

and then this was where they finally landed!!

We put Hamp in the swing for the first time and he LOVED it. He did not make a peep and just sat back and relaxed!!


I cant believe how fast our kids are growing. 4 more days and SS will be 2! WOW! Looking forward to celebrating Dora style!!!

Catching up

I have been so slack with this blog lately. We have had quite a few things going on that I have wanted to write about but when I get some quiet time I either want to sleep, clean or spend time with Scott.

Just to back track some...in June the kids and I, Nicole(sis n law) and Addi(niece) went to the beach for several days. My aunt and uncle go with their 2 kids and my grandmother every year and in the past growing up I would go with them. Since being married and now having children I have not been able to make it so I was very excited to go this year. The kids did great but I will say it was a little much handling them without Scott. The family was a huge help though!

SS loved the beach and swimming in the pool...Hamp was not a huge fan...he is to fat to be in the hot sun!!:)
The kids did wonderful during the ride and on the way home having 3 tired kids in the backseat got me out of a speeding ticket!!! The police officer said "it looks like you have some worn out kids in the back." I batted my eyes a little and said "yes sir they are ready to be home"..it worked all I got was a warning!! Now SS says "fast" when we drive!!

July came around and we had April and Jacob in for the weekend of the 4th.

We always have a great time with them and they adjust to the lack of sleeping arrangements at our little bungalow!!!
Scott smoked barbecue...

and we had friends over for food, horseshoe and fireworks.



It was a wonderful time.

Through the summer I feel like the kids are growing like little weeds.

Hampton is 21lbs, sitting up and becoming such a little man!



SS...well lets just say she is a sassy little thing. Overnight she started carrying conversations with us and has gone from this little girl to this mature little 2 year old. I love it...she is saying things that just crack us up...she knows things that I still don't know how she figured them out! For example the other day we are reading a counting book...I start 1 she says "2" I say 3,4,5,6 she says"7" I proceed with 8, she says "9 10" WHAT...how the heck do you know that:)!!!
She no longer calls Hampton "danton" he is now "buddy." BUT..not just buddy its "buddy buddy buddy" FAST!! Every time she calls him she says his name in 3's.
Pouting has come to stay...she will throw her head in her hands and do a fake cry...then peek at you through her fingers with a little grin! She pouts about anything these days.



We have been teaching her how to say her name...we have made great progress from "Sott" to now " Say Sott!"
My 2 big "to do's" now are starting to think about potty training and getting rid of the paci. I just don't see this paci thing happening anytime soon bc it is so devastating to her when she doesn't have it..HOWEVER daddy has a different agenda!!

7 months old

Hampton turned 7 months old 7/3. We had company in town so I have not been able to sit and blog lately....that will be a separate post. It is so hard to believe that Hampton has been with us for 7 months. I feel like time with him is going by so much faster than it did with Sarah Scott at this age. Maybe because I am so busy with both of them that I don't have time to think..lol!!
He is such a joy and such a happy baby. He is either eating, sleeping or talking and laughing. He only cries when he is hungry, sleepy or wants his momma. Not bragging but he loves his momma. Tonight in fact I left to run an errand..he was in his bouncy when I left...started screaming when I walked out the door....got home an hour later and he is sitting with Scott, tears running down his face and trying to calm down from crying so much. Momma picks him up and he looks at Scott with a BIG smile on his face! I love it!!!!

So Hampton what are you up to these days!
*weigh 20lbs 6oz
* love baby food. You are not like your sister at all...you will eat peas and green beans...anything!
* Sleeping 8-8 with a nap in the AM and afternoon.
* size 4 diapers
*12 month clothes
* say "Thaa thaa" all the time
* starting to sit up...you can stay up for about 8 seconds then you will fall over...unless you have something to hold on to
* you LOVE to stand and just jump...its your favorite
* still eating 4 8oz bottles a day and baby food for breakfast and dinner
*really starting to laugh at Sarah Scott...she will get in your face and blow on you and you just laugh and laugh at her.

We love you dearly little man. You fill my heart with such joy. I love cuddling with you and getting kisses from you. We love you Hampton!!

Fathers Day 2010...a little late

I know I am MAJOR late with this post. We had a wonderful fathers day but never made time to sit and blog bc the kids and I left for the beach the next day....a later post!!

I think Scott really enjoyed his Father's Day. Last year he got a book of his first year as a father. It had pics of SS from her first month and worked its way through Father's Day. I really did not want to repeat the same gift but the more I thought about it....this Father's Day is just as special because it is his first FD being a father of 2. I started the book with Fathers Day last year and included each month leading up to this year. It was so neat to see the changes in Sarah Scott over the year and then introduce Hamp man in to the pic!!! Scott was not very surprised bc the mailman delivered the book one day while Scott was home with lunch but oh well! I think the book was a big hit and I feel a little tradition coming on...lol!

I think alot about Scott as a father. He had a great dad himself and I am very thankful for the morals that his dad instilled into him. Scott is the best father my children could ask for. He spends quality time with them and desires more than anything to be with them. He loves them unconditionally and will guide them down the path the Lord has made for them.
We love you Scott!!

Another thing I did this year was make a brag book for my dad and Scott's dad. The book was similar to Scott's but smaller and had pics of them with the kids. Now they ALWAYS have pics with them and can show anyone and everyone their precious grandkids!!

To my dad...I love you dearly and thank you for being the dad that you are. You have a huge heart and would sacrifice your time to always help and give to others. You have a servants heart. I know that you love me and now extend that same love to my children. They love their Poppy and I love you!!
To my father n law...thank you so much for loving me like your own. Thank you for giving me Scott and thank you for being a wonderful example for him.

Scott man turns the big 35!!

Last Saturday was Scott's birthday...the big 35!! I keep telling him that he is almost at the top of that hill....ya know the one that you fall over when you are the big 40! We had a small get together at my aunts German restaurant in Augusta...just our parents and siblings! We had a great time!

Scott has been amazing to us and taken on his role as a husband and father like a champ! I really could not ask for more when it comes to the time he devotes to his family. We are his main priority and he shows us everyday that he loves us. He is a wonderful role model for SS in the type of husband she will look for and for Hamp in the type of father and husband he will someday be. The Lord has blessed us with this wonderful man and I love him dearly!
On an end note I want to say that I am very proud of Scott and not only his accomplishments as a father and a husband but now his accomplishments in his career. Recently Scott accepted a promotion at Augusta State University as Operations Manager over Business and Auxiliary Services. What does that mean you ask?? He will be Operations Manager over the bookstore, campus dining, catering, JagCard (campus debit card), transportation, shuttle service, vending, central services(copy center, mail room, receiving/warehouse, asset management and moving services), purchasing, telecom and risk management.....wow..did I forget anything!! This is a big accomplishment for him and I am so proud of him. This will really allow him to pull together his whole resume into one position in a managerial role. He is already about 5 min from home and this job will be about 4 min from home!!! We really feel this is where God has placed him and we are excited for him to begin his new journey!

Hamp Man is 6 months old

Sorry sweet Hamp man mommy is a little late with this post. You turned 6 mths old on June 3rd. We went to see Dr.Getts on Friday for your 6 month check up. He told mommy that you were officially in the " big boy" category. I agree you are definitely a big baby but I love it...it gives mommy something to squeeze. Lets go over what you are up to these days.



*19lbs 6oz
*27.5 inches long
*most clothes are 12 months but in pants and shorts its 9 months
*started you on baby food on Friday night. You looked at me a little weird at first...I think you were shocked with the taste...but you are loving it now.
*still sleeping about 8 to 8 with a AM nap from 10 or so on and then a 2 to 3 hour PM nap starting at 2pm.
* you love to laugh and make the most hilarious noise when you laugh. It almost sounds like you are choking but its just you sweet man!!
*love laughing at your sister. I think you are amazed at the things she does to you and I am amazed at what you put up with!
*size 3 diapers and size 4 night diapers
*still eating 4 8oz bottles a day.
*you have 2 bottom teeth
*love holding your feet
* talking all the time. Right now you say "dah-thah"

Hampton like I tell you all the time. We love you so much and are so happy to be your parents. I absolutely love kissing you and squeezing those cute little cheeks.
